Several readers have urged me, in my capacity as Math Cop, to give John
Podhoretz a ticket for taking a percentage of a percentage in his column
this morning–and getting it
wrong! I have mislaid my ticket pad; but this does confirm me in my belief
that nobody who does not have a math degree should be allowed to do
arithmetic in public. Or, as Plato said: “Ageometritos mideis eisito!”
