Mathematical Drama

I gave over part of a chapter in my recent book Unknown Quantity to the strange story of the mathematician Alexander Grothendieck.

A friend in Australia has written a play about Grothendieck.  The text of the play is available on the Grothendieck Circle website here.  I think it’s rather good.

If you are a student or faculty member in a college math department, seeking some entertainment to put on for classmates and colleagues, why not try a staging of Adrian’s play?  There aren’t that many works of stage drama that make references to motivitic cohomology, after all.
