Three weeks out from Virginia’s election day, Democratic gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe leads his Republican opponent Ken Cuccinelli by seven points, according to a new poll.
A Christopher Newport University poll released Tuesday finds that 46 percent of likely voters support McAuliffe, compared with 39 percent for Cuccinelli. Third-party candidate Robert Sarvis of the Libertarian party got 11 percent support.
Those figures closely resemble CNU’s results from last week, which had McAuliffe ahead by a 47–38 margin, and Sarvis taking 8 percent.
