McCain Bill

The White House push for a CIA exemption is basically dead according to the New York Times (HT: RCP). This is unsurprising, since it was unsustainable to argue that cruel and inhuman treatment should be outlawed except for one particular U.S. government agency. For me, it is more obvious every day that what the bill really needs is definitions since so much of the debate now is over whether the Bush administration’s definitions of various terms are reasonable or not.
