Victor, I speak for myself here, but there was a premature sense coming out of, heck, Iowa, that conservatives are going to have to settle — probably for McCain. Because of that litany you ran off — the litany Mark Levin ran off here — conservatives should have real issues with him.

Yes, he’s been a great leader on the surge and that is no small thing. But when conservatives look at judges, free speech, global warming, immigration — shouldn’t they say “we can do better” while there is still time?

I’m still in may-the-most-viable-conservative-win mode given it appears to be a three-way race. With no clear frontrunner, it’s still to soon to settle. And I think that’s what the pushback against McCain is about.
