McCain, Lieberman, Iran and al Qaeda

Tom Joscelyn, the indispensable Tom Joscelyn, notes that most people still seem to believe in the hoary myth of the unbridgeable divide between Sunni and Shi’a. Hence Iran “could not possibly” support al-Qaeda.

There is so much evidence of Iranian support of al-Qaeda that one hardly knows where to begin. Maybe with a copy of The Iranian Time Bomb, which provides a lot of the detail?

But McCain got spooked when he said it, and ran away from it, apparently because Lieberman “corrected” him. It’s pretty embarrassing, no matter how you look at it.
