McCain on Torture

Andy’s right: That is another weakness in McCain’s position. And while one can readily see how torture might not work in many cases, it seems implausible that it would work too rarely to be worth doing. A strictly amoral cost-benefit analysis of torture seems unlikely to yield a strong anti- position.
