McCain’s questions

Some lefty bloggers appear to be misinterpreting a line from McCain’s questioning, and claiming from this that he doesn’t understand the difference between Sunnis and Shi’a.

But what I took him to be saying, and I think it’s pretty obvious from the context, was that al Qaeda is a much bigger deal in Iraq than any obscure Shi’ite or Sunni insurgent group, such as the ones that had been causing recent problems in the South.
