McCarthy: ‘King George’ Democrats

Sterling, Va. — Rep. Kevin McCarthy of California, praised by Rep. John Boehner this morning as the architect of the GOP “Pledge,” is upping up his rhetoric against Democrats, calling them as out of touch as “King George.”

“Just as John Hancock boldly signed his name to the Declaration of Independence, so that even Britain’s King George could read it, I want to say this slowly, so there is no room for misinterpretation: Our government has failed.”

Robert Costa was formerly the Washington editor for National Review.
