McMahon on the Second Stimulus

At the Labor Day parade in Newtown, Conn., yesterday, Republican senatorial candidate Linda McMahon spoke about the Democrats’ proposed stimulus with National Review Online. “I am all for helping our small businesses to be able to have access to capital,” she says.

McMahon also reacted to President Obama’s speech on Iraq. “There was praise for ending the combat mission in Iraq. There was some discussion about Afghanistan. But I think what he really did was pivot to the economic situation in our country,” McMahon says. Asked whether she agrees with the speech, McMahon responds, “Well I certainly support strongly putting people back to work and creating jobs in the private sector. . . . We do need a strong economy here at home to be the strong world power we’ve always been, and so we really need to get our house in order.”
