It wasn’t money, but some sort of structural/procedural stuff. They offered a ton of money. There was a big outcry against McNabb. The Eagles at the time had as good a record on race hirings/management as any team in the NFL, and eventually McNabb and the agent backpedaled after the Eagles broke off negotiations.
