The Meaning of Diversity

I love this line from the Chronicle article on MCRI that Stanley mentions:

“Banning affirmative action,” Dr. Kirch said, “will strip medical educators of an important tool to increase diversity among tomorrow’s doctors.”

Yes, a true commitment to diversity means that we must have both good doctors and bad ones. Hey, diversity supporters, ask yourself a question: If you or a loved one are about to undergo life-threatening surgery, would you prefer to have the very best doctor available on a colorblind basis, or would you prefer something else?
