Meet the New Boss

Pete Townshend responds to “Won’t Get Fooled Again” topping NR’s list of the greatest conservative rock songs. Technically, he’s responding to The Independent’s reprinting of our list. My response to his response: 1. Wow, this just about makes my day. 2. He doesn’t personally want to be labeled as a conservative, which is fine by me. 3. In noting that revolutions have unintended consequences, he accepts the song’s counterrevolutionary appeal. 4. His anecdote about the ANC and the IRA helps make the point. 5. This just about makes my day. Or did I say that already?
