On last night’s Kelly File, Fox News host Megyn Kelly slammed the Clinton campaign for a series of e-mails released in the latest WikiLeaks e-mail dump. The e-mails in question reveal Clinton’s current communications director Jennifer Palmieri, Clinton’s current campaign chair John Podesta, and Center for American Progress senior fellow John Halpin mocking Christianity and, in particular, Catholics for their supposed “bastardization of the faith.” Halpin stated in one e-mail that conservatives were attracted to Catholicism for its “severely backward gender relations.” The e-mails also suggest that prominent Catholics chose Catholicism as a cover for their bigoted religious beliefs because they wanted to avoid the societal judgment they would receive if they became Evangelical Christians. The Clinton camp has yet to repudiate or even offer comment on the hostile e-mail chain.
