Michigan (They/Them) Strikes Again

Michigan politicians have issued an all-out war on sanity: The state’s Democratic-controlled house of representatives just passed a bill that would make it a felony to use the right pronouns. Michiganders could be charged $10,000 and jailed for five years if they cause someone to feel “terrorized, frightened, or threatened” by words. The state senate will now take up the bill.

The state legislature this week also blocked so-called conversion therapy, banning mental-health professionals from counseling youth out of questioning their gender identity. Michigan still allows counseling that assists with gender transition.
