No, the Middle Class Hasn’t Stagnated for 40 Years

A recent study claimed that the average wage is no higher, in purchasing power, than it was in 1978. At Bloomberg Opinion, I argue that wages, and non-wage benefits, have grown significantly over that period if we use the right measures – -and suggest some reasons why that progress doesn’t register with everyone.
