Minnesota Vote Count

It’s counting day in Minnesota. Nearly 400 absentee ballots will be opened and counted, and there is almost zero chance that they will erase Norm Coleman’s (R) 225-vote deficit against Al Franken (D). Coleman has promised an appeal to the state Supreme Court in order to have more of the disallowed absentees counted, and Gov. Tim Pawlenty (R), citing Minnesota law, will not certify anyone until that challenge has been completed. The bottom line is that Minnesota will have only one senator for a few months still.
