MI’s New President

Word today that Reihan Salam will be the next president of the Manhattan Institute is just spectacular news for all involved. I know NR will miss him dearly, but he will be advancing the cause, and bringing his wisdom and creativity to one of the most important institutions on the right at a critical time.

Reihan replaces Larry Mone, who is retiring after more than two decades of leading MI from strength to strength — including a key role in one of the greatest urban revivals in American history. Big shoes to fill, but Reihan’s distinctly New York brand of thoughtful, practical, principled, energetic conservatism strikes me as just the right fit.

Godspeed.
