Mischaracterization

Wolf Blitzer just asked McCain whether he had read the October 2002 National Intelligence Estimate, “with all its caveats about weapons of mass destruction.” Wait a second. There were no “caveats” about the existence of WMD. The disputes in the NIE — and they were pretty minor, pretty much isolated to the State Department’s Intelligence Bureau — were about the extent of Saddam’s nuclear program.
