I have a memory of Senator John Danforth. When he wanted evidence, he’d say, “I’m from Missouri: Show me.” Well, Missouri boasts a Show-Me Institute, whose slogan is “Where liberty comes first.” The work of this organization “is rooted in the American tradition of free markets and individual liberty.” They’re singing my song, and, I believe, America’s song.
Under the auspices of Show-Me, our own National Review Institute, et al., I will be speaking in St. Louis and Kansas City (Mo., to be sure). In St. Louis on May 9; in Kansas City on May 10. Those links will give you the necessary info. Admission is free — and I hope to give people their money’s worth. My topic is “Adventures in Journalism,” which may include a misadventure or two as well. I have been at this a long time, looking into subjects of various sorts.
