A few days ago here, Rich quoted one GOPer saying that the get-out-the-vote effort there was the best ever. It sounds like it. I’m told that during this Senate campaign, Republicans made 1.6 million live calls–not robo-calls–and knocked on 1.6 million doors. Over the last 12 days, volunteers have put in 8,000 shifts. Today’s turnout operation, some say, is better than Bush-Cheney’s in 2004.

The minimum-wage issue on the ballot doesn’t seem to have been hard-fought enough to drive turnout on the Democratic side; the cloning-embryos initiative does seem to be bringing some voters to the polls, but to which side’s advantage isn’t clear.
