Mitt Romney 3.0

Mike Allen over at Politico ranks 20 potential Republican presidential candidates on the likelihood they will run. It has Mitt Romney dead last at 20 and flatly says he won’t run. This sounds exactly right. The Romney 2016 stories appear to have been ginned up by a few loyalists among his donors and were always otherworldly. Just imagine if Romney were already in the race again and this Jonathan Gruber story broke. How would that be going for him? Romney is a profoundly decent man who would have been a better president than Obama, but the third try wouldn’t be the charm.
