More Fundraising Nuance from the Democrats

Since folks seemed to get a kick out of reading that DCCC fundraising email yesterday, I figured I’d pass along these gems in my email box (sorry if the links to donate have been de-activated):

Dear Jonah,

You know Republicans. Give ’em an inch and they’ll take billions in tax cuts for the wealthy.

So far, they’ve tried to kill Medicare, scrap health care reform and gut clean energy investments. Why? To give big, fat tax cuts to billionaires and corporations.

Democrats can block this idiocy in the Senate, for now. But Republicans only need 4 seats for the majority. If they get them, then guess what? Tax breaks for billionaires, a defunded Planned Parenthood, and the end of Medicare could become a reality.

We CAN prevent this: The DSCC’s Rapid Response Project is designed to protect our agenda by fighting every single GOP attack. But they need your help! It’s going to take $116,913 in the next 4 days to make this project happen.

Click here to make an immediate donation of $5 or more to the DSCC’s Rapid Response Project. They need $116,913 in the next 4 days to help protect our Democratic Senate firewall.

Maybe you think your donation won’t make a difference. But Uncle James is here to straighten you out. More than 90% of donations to the DSCC are gifts from grassroots supporters like you. Republican groups might have dump trucks full of corporate cash, but we’ve got something better – real grassroots power.

And we can’t win without it. The map is huge. We have 23 seats to defend, and Republicans only have 10.  But we’ve got great chances to flip some red seats blue if we expose their extreme agenda, respond to every Republican attack and get our progressive message out to voters early and often. You in?

We’re cutting the Republicans off at the pass now – with your help.

Sincerely,

James Carville

And then this:

Jonah –

Have you heard the news?

At town hall meetings across the country, House Republicans are facing a citizen backlash like never before for voting to end Medicare but give more reckless tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires.

But we can’t let up now. The same shadowy right-wing special interest groups that flooded the airwaves last fall are back with ads praising Republicans and misleading seniors about the GOP’s outrageous plan to end Medicare. We cannot let these vicious lies stand.

We’ve put together a hard-hitting new video that exposes their lies, calls out their broken promises to voters, and holds them accountable. You may have seen it on The Rachel Maddow Show and The Ed Show this week.

Check out our new video calling out Republicans who voted to end Medicare and then contribute $3 or more to help us hit our $250,000 Rapid Response Fund goal before the critical FEC deadline on Saturday.

What’s happening to these Republicans at town hall meetings is no accident.

It’s exactly what happens when we create a forceful Rapid Response campaign that takes the fight directly to the Republicans and holds them accountable for slashing benefits for seniors but protecting tax breaks for millionaires, billionaires, and Big Oil.

We can’t let up — especially not while the world is watching.

Watch the video and then help us spread it far and wide by contributing $3 or more to our Rapid Response Fund before Saturday’s FEC deadline.

With the media watching, let’s force Republicans to keep answering to their constituents about why they voted to abolish Medicare but give more and more outrageous tax cuts to millionaires, billionaires, and Big Oil Companies.

Let’s show these Republicans what real accountability looks like.

Onward to victory,

Rep. Steve Israel

DCCC Chairman

P.S. At town hall meetings across the country, House Republicans are facing a backlash for voting to end Medicare so they could give more tax cuts to millionaires and billionaires. Help us crank up the heat even higher. Check out our new video and then contribute to our Rapid Response Fund before Saturday’s critical FEC deadline.
