More Interesting Than the Super Bowl

Mona Charen and I recorded a podcast early on Sunday afternoon. It is not quite a pre-game show, although we do talk some football — Mona once worked for Jack Kemp. Mainly, we talk about Obama and the State of the Union (both the speech and the real condition). Obama announced to our country that a woman still earns 77 cents for every dollar a man earns. Mona patiently explains why this is misleading (to be polite about it). I, of course, am much less patient. This 77-cents canard has been around forever, and it is apparently unkillable. Listening to Obama, I feel like I’m reading Ms. magazine, c. 1975.

In addition, Mona and I talk Scarlett Johansson, Barbara Comstock, Eric Holder, and Howard Hanson. We also have some words of praise for the American immigrant. Join us here.
