More on the Libya deal

Tigerhawk chimes in to remind both VDH and myself not to forget factoring in the value of rolling up the AQ network into the Libya deal.  True.  An excellent point I’m remiss to have neglected.  There is a conundrum, though. I don’t think we should give Qadhafi a free pass on the whole reform and human rights issue.  Our foreign policy should be rooted to the principle that we dispense carrots on countries that behave well in the first place, rather than bestowing carrots as rewards for non-compliance.  Let’s see whether Qadhafi keeps his word.  He certainly hasn’t on both Fathi El-Jahmi and terrorism.
