More on Obama’s Abortion Spin

John McCormack points out that in a speech last year, Obama said, “I put Roe at the center of my lesson plan on reproductive freedom when I taught Constitutional law.” That makes it harder to believe that his misdescription of abortion law over the last week was innocent.

An old column by Terry Jeffrey, meanwhile, casts doubt on Obama’s story about the Illinois bill to protect infants who survive abortions. Obama and his campaign have argued that the Illinois bill was an attempt to overturn Roe, and that he would have supported the federal version of the bill, which included language about how the bill did not affect the legality of abortion. It appears, however, that the Illinois bill at one point included the exact same language, and Obama still voted against it.
