Alexandria, Virginia, is a Democratic stronghold, a major part of the state’s Eighth Congressional District that gave Al Gore 55% of its votes in 2000 and Ralph Nader an additional 4%.
As of this past Sunday morning, “Clark for President” signs were posted with military precision alongside a Northern Alexandria road near Reagan National Airport. By Monday night, those many Clark signs have been replaced by a lone, defiant “Dean for America” sign.
