MoveOn.org now claims it has 291,307 signatures on its “emergency petition” calling on Democrats to stop the Alito Supreme Court nomination. It’s an impressive number, well past the original goal of 250,000 (MoveOn now says it has raised its goal to 300,000). However, a few e-mailers have written to suggest that MoveOn’s numbers might not be entirely reliable, and one blogger has posted an analysis casting doubt on the count.
