Taliesin Nexus, an educational nonprofit that promotes liberty-oriented storytelling, has a free workshop for aspiring screenwriters, filmmakers, and other creatives interested in pursuing a career in the entertainment industry.
The Apollo Workshop, held in August on the campus of UCLA, is taught by seasoned Hollywood pros who’ve worked on such hit shows as The Blacklist, Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, and The Simpsons and blockbuster movies like Noah, American Pie, and Braveheart.
Everything is absolutely free — travel to and from L.A. (yes, you read that right), room and board, tuition, even applying — all free, courtesy of Taliesin Nexus.
While you’re on their website, check out their other great free programs, such as a workshop for aspiring novelists, paid internships, and MFA scholarships. It’s a “safe space” for libertarians, conservatives, and other right-leaners who want to work in the arts.
