An item in today’s NYT notes that Paul Wolfowitz has just become chairman of the Secretary of State’s International Security Advisory Board. His predecessor? Fred Thompson, who resigned to run for president. Except that Thompson isn’t running for president anymore. That’s how long it took to find a replacement for Thompson–the length of the Thompson candidacy.
