Murray: Raising Taxes ‘On Its Own’ Doesn’t Grow The Economy

Senate Budget Committee chairman Patty Murray (D., Wash.) said Wednesday that she doesn’t think the tax increase signed into law by President Clinton “on its own” was responsible for economic growth during the 1990s. The budget Senate Democrats are set to unveil later today (their first in nearly four years) will propose a $1 trillion tax increase.
