I thought that NRO readers would appreciate knowing this – because I certainly did. I can’t tell you that the majority of performers here at the Salzburg Festival are conservative. In fact, I can tell you the opposite. But I can also tell you that there are conservatives, among the performers – and NR and NRO readers, too. Some looked me up. And we had a festive, quasi-conspiratorial dinner last night. You never know – you just never know. Many conservatives in the arts are closeted; some are right out in the open. And – I know I can speak for you, dear readers – we bless them all.
