My Wife Interjects

Santorum gave an absolutely superb answer, on substance, on how he would change at least three programs to save a lot of money. He said he would do for food stamps and Medicaid what he did for welfare: block grant, etc. Straightforward, on target, highly specific, clearly knowledgeable, but my wife immediately said: “Right on target. But he had so many details, it was probably too much for the audience to take in. You’ll notice he didn’t get any applause from the audience. It’s the difference between winning minds and winning votes.”
