Nancy Mace to Challenge Lindsey Graham in Senate Primary

Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina has now picked up a second primary challenger: Nancy Mace, the first female graduate of the Citadel, a military academy located in South Carolina.

She wrote a book in 2001 that chronicles her experience at her schoolher website describes the 35-year-old as “a wife, mother and small business owner.” She is the daughter of retired Army brigadier general Emory Mace, who was commandant of cadets at the Citadel from 1998 to 2006.

Her website also says that she is looking forward to “a special announcement” tomorrow morning at the Berkeley County GOP Breakfast, which will presumably be her official announcement.

Mace isn’t Graham’s only primary opponent: Richard Cash, a businessman who lost a 2010 Republican congressional primary to now-representative Jeff Duncan, announced in April.
