AMANPOUR: “Are you nervous about November?”
PELOSI: “No, I’m not nervous at all — ”
AMANPOUR: “Not at all?”
PELOSI: “No.”
As I’ve suggested before, if Mrs. Pelosi isn’t worried, she really ought to be. And if she is worried and is projecting this confidence as a strategy, I think she has it wrong. 1) Democrats should be in crisis mode. 2) Since the median position of the punditry seems to be that Republicans will narrowly win the House, Pelosi’s blithe optimism would only make that event more significant.
