Nazis!

I am a fan of The Man in the High Castle, even though I worry the new season — which is about to drop on Amazon Prime — will be bad as it doubles down on the magical nonsense.

But even if you don’t like The Man in the High Castle, I recommend checking out SS-GB (I got it on iTunes; it airs on Starz in the US and BBC in the UK), which is based on the Len Deighton novel. It’s set in England about a year after the Nazis successfully conquer the Brits and occupy the country. As with most things, the novel is better, and the show could have used a lot more of the political and military strategy stuff. But it’s very good at setting a mood, and I found the whole thing more compelling than many critics did. I really hope they follow up with another season rather than leave it as a five-episode miniseries.
