Necrophilia Means Never Having to Say You’re Sorry

Regarding that homosexuals and necrophilia comment from Huck that Stuttaford mentioned earlier, I don’t envy his spokesman right now. He had had to do a series of rhetorical half-gainers to explain things to Talking Points Memo.

Now having recently witnessed the horror that is A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila — MTV’s first bisexual dating show starring a Penthouse model aimed atteenagers (In particular, episode 8,”Lapdance for Grandma”) — I’ll be the first to tell you that American culture is on a toboggan ride to hell.

But even given the furious denial that Huckabee was equating homosexuality with criminal behaviors, I hesitate to suggest his remark about the “vast array of publicly endorsed and institutionally supported aberrations—from homosexuality and pedophilia to sadomasochism and necrophilia” begs one further clarification. How exactly is necrophilia publicly endorsed and institutionally supported? Not even the most ardent culture warriors I know think we’ve sunk that low. As far as I can tell, the closest we’ve come to publicly supporting congress with dead people is Robert Bryd still chairing the Appropriations Committee.
