Neologisms

The University of Washington notice below was sent to me by a friend. It is, alas, pretty routine stuff for campus memos nowadays. The thing that caught my eye was “glbtqtqi.” What happened to the dear old familiar “glbttqqi”? Can they really just muck about like this with the language of Chaucer and Shakespeare?
