New Florida Polling Shows Gubernatorial Race Tied

Two new polls show the Florida governor’s race remains tied heading into the last few days of the campaign. A new Quinnipiac poll shows Democratic candidate Charlie Crist leading Republican governor Rick Scott by three percentage points among likely voters, which falls within the poll’s margin of error. And a Tampa Bay Times poll released on Thursday shows Scott and Crist each receiving the support of 36 percent of likely voters surveyed. The Times’ poll indicates voters appear to have grown dissatisfied with both Scott and Crist, as 13 percent of respondents refused to say who they would support and 7 percent said they remained undecided. Following a couple of debates, which highlighted Crist’s attachment to his electric fan, and a slew of outside spending, including environmentalist billionaire Tom Steyer’s $12 million spent trashing Scott, nearly every poll released in the past month shows the race tied or within the margin of error.
