New Hampshire’s Governor Will Veto ‘Constitutional Carry’ Bill

Both houses of the New Hampshire legislature have passed “constitutional carry” legislation this year. But, per the Union Leader, the governor is set to veto the measure:

CONCORD — Before the House could take a vote Wednesday, Gov. Maggie Hassan said she would veto a bill that would repeal the requirement for a concealed firearms permit.

The House passed the measure by at 212-150 margin.

The Senate had previously approved the bill 14-9. Neither chamber has enough votes to override the veto.

Had Hassan acquiesced, New Hampshire would have become the seventh state to get rid of its permitting process. The others are Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Kansas, Vermont, Wyoming.
