They say Frank Gehry could be inspired by a crumpled up piece of paper. In that spirit, here are a couple of new artistic renderings of the proposed Cordoba Center along with (what are, I assume) the objects that inspired the design.
First, the building’s facade — “a lattice of interlocking geometric shapes” which at night “would be lit up like a glistening honeycomb.”
The designer must have intended that each polygon in the honeycomb represent a space for a visitor to regurgitate the honey of religious tolerance in order to feed the larvae of multicultural understanding. I’m assured there is a Star of David featured “clearly” among the geometric shapes, but I can’t find one that looks definitive. I’m not sure if you need some kind of treasure map and a working knowledge of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion to spot it, or if you just need to let your eyes go cross like one of those 3D posters:
