János Horváth got to know Ronald Reagan in the mid-1970s, and has some very interesting things to say about him. Reagan makes an appearance in the final installment of my “Freedom Fighter” series today. Horváth got to know the ex-governor (as he was then) through Indiana politics: The Gipper campaigned with Edgar Whitcomb (another ex-governor at the time), to whom Horváth was economic adviser.
I didn’t know much about Whitcomb, so looked him up on Wikipedia (as one does). (The entry is here.) Born in 1917, Whitcomb is four years older than Horváth. And he got married last year.
Whoa.
