Are there any readers here who are shocked to learn that I favor “a general ban on abortion,” that is, a ban on most abortions? Have I been concealing the fact that I’m pro-life lo these many years? Sullivan keeps trumpeting this fact as though he has forced me to reveal some tawdry secret. He can go ahead and keep trumpeting it: I’m always happy when Sullivan can bring himself to write a wholly truthful post. (It helps that this one is short.) I’m not at all embarrassed to take the same position on abortion as President Reagan did.
