I’m watching Special Report. They just said that Huckabee is at 39 among likely Iowa Republican caucus goers and Romney at 17 (the sample was very small, 275 people with a margin of error of +/- 6%). That’s amazing. However, in my experience, Newsweek has always had the most unreliable polls. I’m not a student of polling, so I don’t know why this is the case, but whenever I’ve heard a crazy poll result I’ve asked “Was it Newsweek?” and very, very often it has been (sometimes, in non-primary polling, it was because Newsweek over-polled Democrats by huge margins). That said, even if this is an exaggerated finding, it’s still a big deal and shows that he’s still on his way to taking Iowa by a wide margin.
