Newark’s Star-Ledger newspaper editorialized on Friday that if evidence turns up that Chris Christie has been dishonest about his knowledge of the Bridgegate scandal, the governor should resign or be impeached. One of the key figures in the investigation, Democratic state assemblyman John Wisniewski, says it’s way too soon to be talking about that.

Asked what “impeachment” and “resignation” meant to him at this point in the investigation, the state legislator was blunt: “One word: premature.”

“We don’t have enough facts to even get to that conversation,” Wisniewski said.
