I’ve neither understood nor shared the conservative enthusiasm for Sen. Lieberman in recent years. Recall Jay Nordlinger’s fine NRODT cover story on Joe Lieberman, “Orthodox Democrat”: even with Lieberman being more or less right on Iraq and the GWOT, it’s hard for me to feel I have a dog in this fight. Instead I look at the Lieberman-Lamont race rather like the Iran-Iraq war: if I had my way, they’d both lose.
