No Nukes

President Obama’s announcement that the United States won’t use nuclear weapons on certain kinds of foes because it wouldn’t be fair or something is a perfect example of the problem John David Lewis discusses in his new book, Nothing Less Than Victory–as well as in today’s podcast. The United States should be willing to do whatever is necessary to eliminate clear threats, says Lewis. Washington certainly shouldn’t swear off options, no matter how grim they may seem.

We recorded the podcast a week or two ago and I’ve already linked to it once today, but it’s worth a second mention in light of today’s news.

John J. Miller, the national correspondent for National Review and host of its Great Books podcast, is the director of the Dow Journalism Program at Hillsdale College. He is the author of A Gift of Freedom: How the John M. Olin Foundation Changed America.
