No V. 9/11

E-mail:

9/11 and the Katrina devastation are in no ways similar.

After the towers fell, there was little (real) danger afterwards.

Everyone who wasn’t dead or injured could go home. Nobody was made homeless.

Walk a few blocks away from Ground Zero, and the city was untouched and people were safe.

The neighboring hospitals were whole.

The city infrastructure (left untouched) could readily handle the influx of aid.

Finally, the following day, 95% the city’s business could go on as normal.

The logistics of the disasters are completely different in kind and scale.

While I admire Rudy Guiliani, there’s no evidence that he would handle the NO crisis any better.
