The Corner

Not for God, but Definitely for Country and for Yale

Attn: Yalies — When Yale University Press was self-censoring its book on the Danish Mohammed cartoons, alum Michael Horowitz rounded up a bunch of us to protest. Now Horowitz is seeking an alumni fellow seat on the Yale Corporation.

Horowitz (Yale Law ’64) was general counsel to the OMB in Reagan’s first term. He is a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, and has been a campaigner for human rights in North Korea, the Sudan, and American prisons (where rape is a shameful fact of life).

He is going the petition route, which means friendly alums have to e-mail this address and write “I support the Alumni Fellow petition candidacy of Michael Horowitz.” It will be the best thing you did since drinking your last black cup.

Historian Richard Brookhiser is a senior editor of National Review and a senior fellow at the National Review Institute.
