A couple of weeks ago, there was chatter around here about November as National Novel Writing Month. At least one NROnik, Mike Long, has accepted the challenge. Read his profile here. In an astonishing act of bravery, he’s posting his novel as he writes it, on his personal website. From an email he just sent to friends:
Oh—the book is called “Marry Me.” It’s a comic novel about a “professional fake” who drives cross-country to marry as many women as possible in as little time as possible. (I’d rate it PG-13, with rare but undeniable R moments.)
That’s it. Do with this information what you will. My telling so many people in such a public way increases the pressure on me to finish what I have started, which is the main reason for this message. As of today I have written 16,057 words, which is about 32 percent of the whole thing. I’m on track to finish around the 25th, five days early. We shall see.
